Who are frontline supervisors?
Frontline supervisors play a critical role in managing and directing the workforce. They include crew leaders, mayordomos/as, supervisors, forepersons, and managers. They are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day performance of workers, which includes not only ensuring that production goals are met, but also that workers are healthy and safe.
What does the Frontline Supervisor Training include?
The training is 3 hours and supports frontline supervisors with taking a leadership role for health and safety in the workplace. This interactive training is conducted in person and in Spanish for small groups of up to 25 participants.
During the training, participants will:
- Reflect on how a frontline supervisor can be a leader to support safety and health in the workplace, without overlooking production goals.
- Review the legal requirements of important Cal/OSHA safety standards, including:
- Practice the use of feasible and effective hazard controls to reduce the risk of COVID-19 in the workplace.
- Reflect on the importance of effective training of workers as a tool to improve health and safety.
- Interact with other training attendees and share experiences.
